Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is your name changing again?
A: Trillium is not going away! The reason behind our name change last year was so that in the future, should we decide to change broker dealers, we could keep our own unique name and never have to change it. Trillium Financial Group remains your dedicated team. All of our contact information will remain the same too.
Q: I was emailed paperwork from "esign@lplfinancial.com" that is asking for the last four digits of my Social Security Number. Is this really from you?
A: Yes, it is from us and is not a scam. We have been busy reaching out to as many clients as we can to discuss this change and explain the paperwork that is required to move your account to LPL. If you have not heard from us yet, please don't hesitate to email us or give us a call to discuss your paperwork. Please rest assured that the forms are secure, but if you don't feel comfortable signing electronically we are happy to make other arrangements.
Q: Will I get a new account number?
A: The type of account you hold with us will determine if your account number will change (some clients will have a combination of account types):
- If your statements were from Osaic and show Pershing LLC as Custodian, you will be receiving a new account number. These are brokerage accounts that will have LPL as the new custodian.
- If your statement shows any other investment company name (ex. American Funds, Invesco, Prudential, Corebridge, John Hancock), those are direct held accounts and your account number will remain the same.
Q: I used to make my checks out to Pershing LLC. Who do I make them out to now?
A: Brokerage account holders will now make your checks out to LPL Financial.
Q: Will my fees go up?
A: No. In most cases they will remain the same. In some cases they will be reduced.
Q: Will I still be able to view my accounts online?
A: Yes! After your account with LPL is set up, you will have access to Account View. There is already a link to this portal at the top right corner of our Home Page!
